It is our job as PR beauties to secure coverage for our clients. It is also our job to build lasting relationships with those who our clients are paired with. That means we need to build a great relationship with you! Technically speaking we love what you do! We’d like to leave you with a few secrets on how to make the PR gal or guy your BFF. Having us in your corner only does great things for you and vise versa.
First, know your brand vision and have a niche. Knowing exactly the sound and vibe of your blog or channel helps us out a lot. As well as knowing your niche is crucial. Not every brand we represent matches your vision. Our job is to maintain and receive honest, genuine, positive and real press. It is very easy for us to spot an influencer who is looking to get free stuff. It shows in your post and your tweets. Remember, as PR pro’s we know other PR pro’s who know Pr pro’s who know PR pro’! If we don’t have a client that fits your niche or vision, we know a few PR pro’s who do. So having a clear vision can help us help you!
Have a media kit! – A media kit is our lifeline and very well should be yours! A media kit will help us identify where you stand and how our brand can stand with you. What we look for in your media kit is what types of things you cover on your blog / channel. We also check for accurate stats. (Stats are very important). Stats such as your social media following, blog traffic, popular posts and newsletter subscriptions. More importantly, we are looking to get to know you and how you translate on paper. If you can not translate well on paper, this gives us an idea of how our client may translate online from your post. If you have done any brand collaborations in the past. It is best to highlight them. They are great reference points for us to see what you got in terms of working with a brand.
Mean and do what you say you will do! – Delivering what you promised you will, will do a long way for you. If you said you would do a video plus a campaign. Do that. If you said you would have the post or video up by next Friday. Have it up by Friday. The last thing you want is us calling or emailing you down for something that is contracted to have been done. It leaves a bad taste in our mouths and more than likely will have us not wanting to work with you in the future. No matter how many followers you have. If something does happen to come up. Please inform us ahead of time. It is always better to be safe than sorry. As well as it shows professionalism and respect. Remember, communication is key and a simple call or email says a lot!
